The Western Australian European Office
The Western Australia Government Office (WAGO) in Europe promotes awareness of Western Australia as an attractive destination for trade and investment. WAGO is involved in a wide range of activities and facilitates relationships between the UK and European companies and Western Australian business.
WAGO, based in London works to:
- promote Western Australia as an attractive and dynamic destination for: inbound trade and investment; business and industry; science, research and innovative technology;
provide assistance to Western Australian companies seeking to develop outbound business opportunities and promote trade and exports;
promote Western Australia as a competitive business environment for investment and trade and as a base to service Asia Pacific;
- promote the capital city Perth, a global science and innovation research and knowledge hub and a natural resources hub with a growing mining equipment and technology services industry.
John Atkins, Agent General
As the Government of Western Australia’s representative throughout Europe, John is responsible for raising awareness of the State and promoting trade and investment.
John’s role is to raise the profile and knowledge throughout Europe of Western Australia as an investment destination and as a source of high quality products and expertise. To this end, key objectives include; expanding the awareness of and the market penetration for a range of Western Australian commodities, manufactured goods and services; encouraging further European investment in the Western Australian economy; promoting infrastructure investment and technology, education, innovation and scientific exchange; and promoting the immigration of businesses and skilled people to Western Australia to meet the needs of a strongly growing economy.
