Consultant Paediatrician x 4 and Head of Department
Location: Various locations, WA Country Health Service
Kimberley Region - We are seeking two enthusiastic part time general paediatricians to join our team in the beautiful Kimberley region, based in Broome. We have a busy 8-bed inpatient unit, a level 2 nursery, a fascinating outreach program, regional neonatal transport service and opportunities engage in Population Health and research activities. The successful applicants would also have the desire and ability to work autonomously, flexibly, have strong leadership skills, a willingness to undertake short trips through the region and an appreciation of the complexities of remote Aboriginal child health. These are fixed term positons, both working minimum of 64 hours/fortnight (0.8FTE).
Midwest Region – We are seeking to establish a new dynamic Paediatric team based at Geraldton Hospital. We are looking for a full time Head of Department and two part time Consultants. Geraldton paediatrics provides a comprehensive service with inpatient paediatrics, a neonatal service and a community paediatric service which involves local and remote outpatient services to all members of the Midwest region. Paediatrics is supported by a well established Child Development Service, Child Health Nurse service and Public Health service. These positions would suit those who value being part of a vibrant community. There is ample opportunity for academic stimulus through contact with the Rural Clinical School of WA and the West Australian Centre for Rural Health (UWA) based in Geraldton. Part time paediatricians may wish to establish closer links with primary health care providers.

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP; paediatrics), or its equivalent qualification.
