The WAGO European office
As the Government of Western Australia’s representative throughout Europe, John is responsible for raising awareness of the State and promoting trade and investment. John’s role is to raise the profile and knowledge throughout Europe of Western Australia as an investment destination and as a source of high quality products and expertise. To this end, key objectives include; expanding the awareness of and the market penetration for a range of Western Australian commodities, manufactured goods and services; encouraging further European investment in the Western Australian economy; promoting infrastructure investment and technology, education, innovation and scientific exchange; and promoting the immigration of businesses and skilled people to Western Australia to meet the needs of a strongly growing economy.

Business Development Officer - Agriculture, Food and Beverage
Sally, originally from regional Western Australia, has been working for the European Office since 1996. She is responsible for the promotion of Western Australia’s wine and food exports. She has recently acquired a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits (WCF) and is working with producers to help introduce their products to UK and European markets. Sally is also responsible for managing administration for the Agent General and coordinating official visits and events on behalf of the office.
Trade and Investment Manager
Charlotta joined the European Office in January 2017. Originally from Sweden, Charlotta lived in Western Australia for 7 years prior to moving to London mid-2016. Charlotta has a Masters degree in Media and Communications from Uppsala University and worked most recently as an editor for a mining, energy and infrastructure publication at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia. Her role at the Government of Western Australia's European Office is to provide marketing and communications support to the office with the emphasis on promoting trade and investment opportunities in WA across all portfolios.
Senior Program Officer International Workforce Supply Bureau, UK Office
Karen is the Department of Health – Western Australia’s representative in the UK. With a background in human resources, Karen has worked within the WA Government since 1995 and has been with the International Workforce Supply Bureau since 2011. Her role is to source health professionals from the UK and Ireland for the Government health services in WA and provide advice about opportunities in WA, registration and visa sponsorship.
Michael Carstens, Finance and Admin Manager
Michael joined the Agent General’s Office, London, in July 2017. After 12 years with Mercedes Benz Michael has gained a wealth of knowledge in Finance and administration. His role which includes overseeing the financial and administrational requirements at the European Office. His qualification with the Open University includes BA(hon)BA cert and CIMA Operation level.
Debbie Winfield, Secretary
Debbie is locally employed and has been with the Agent General’s Office in London since 1988. She joined the office with more than six years administration and secretarial experience. Her role as secretary at the European Office includes assisting the administration department and supporting the office at events and functions.
