Agent General’s Message

In my first few months as Agent General I have been struck by the amount of Western Australians there are in London, and how quick they are to tell me they are from WA! I have loved the chance to meet and talk to them about what they are doing, what they want to do and how they want to help WA. It has also been great to have so many former colleagues from Perth visit the office to say hello and check in.

Angela Kelly PSM by Angela Kelly PSM,

It is a real honour to represent Western Australia and that was very much so in November when I attended the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph and then participated in the Remembrance Day service at the Australian War Memorial. Both services a huge reminder of the sacrifices that so many made for each of us to live the lives we do.

The team in London and Frankfurt has been focussed on engaging with companies and organisations across key sectors, including renewable energy, critical minerals, defence, agribusiness and health and medical life sciences. We have ensured that we have had a presence at key meetings where we are able to promote Western Australia and connect local businesses to opportunities in WA. And we have visited key businesses to see firsthand the key work and innovation that they are undertaking and developing.

A huge thank you:

  • To my colleagues from the Australian High Commission and other States for your counsel and help,
  • To the many amazing people, companies, and organisations who have offered their assistance and guidance, and
  • To the teams in London, Frankfurt and Perth for the support and advice during my transition.

I look forward to what the next three months will bring!
