Despite the global pandemic, London is getting ready to once again turn into the hottest innovation hub on the planet to unite tech, talent and enablers.
Last year, London became the backdrop for a week-long festival of tech and innovation as London Tech Week in June brought together over 58,000 attendees from 95 countries to attend their 300 events.
This year we are adapting to the new normal to be part of the future with London Tech Week set to maintain its position as one of the world’s biggest technology conferences.
WA startups and scaleups – be part of the future
If your startup or scaleup is ready for global expansion and looking at the UK as a key market to enter, then this is for you.
The Government of Western Australia will provide funding for up to ten West Australian startups and scaleups to join a high quality and interactive virtual trade mission delivered by our partner Newfound. It will be an intensive 3 days programme over 15-17 September full of meetings with VC firms, large corporates, advice on how to succeed on the UK market, a pitch day and practical tips for your business.
Successful applicants will also participate in a series of London Tech Week webinars arranged by the UK Department for International Trade and briefing sessions at JTSI, kicking off from 3 September.
Applications close on Friday 21 August. To apply please click here.
The UK and London continue to dominate the European tech investment landscape and 2019 was a record year for investment into London’s tech sector with $9.7 billion raised, more than in any other European city.
Research from TechNation and Dealroom.co shows that London tech companies have already raised $4 billion in investments this year, despite the global pandemic.
Continually crowned a “hotbed for innovation”, data shows that London offers the most promising prospects for startups, tech and innovation investment looking ahead.
London Tech Week is the best time of the year to tap into the UK market to leverage the opportunities and connections, at a time when every hub, investor, startup programme and corporate will welcome conversations with international tech companies.
How the WA Government’s London office can assist
The Government of Western Australia’s office in London can assist your business with international growth.
WA tech companies can use the London office as a virtual launching pad for entering the UK, European and Israeli markets. Our office has knowledge on the tech sector and the broader economic opportunities in the UK, Europe and Israel region.
We see the facilitation of international growth for WA companies ultimately leading to flow-on benefits for Western Australia – such as enhanced recognition for WA as a centre for tech and the creation of more jobs in their Australian offices.
