Ocean magazine puts spotlight on WA

UK-based Oceanographic Magazine has produced a dedicated spotlight issue on Western Australia. The 102 page editorial is filled with photography and insights from WA-based photographers and guides as well as great underwater tales from Ningaloo Reef, Bremer Canyon, the Rowley Shoals as well as the waterways of Mandurah and the Kimberley. Tourism WA hosted the editor at Shark Bay and one of its writers in Mandurah as well as connecting local experts with the commissioning team. Tourism WA targets the next generation of setjetters

The influence of film and TV on travel choices is undeniable. Netflix viewers are 2.4 times more likely to add a destination to their travel list after seeing it on screen. Tourism WA partnered with Screenwest to meet the global production industry at Focus London to talk all things Western Australia and attract future productions (and travellers) to visit the Dream State over two days of meetings with location scouts, producers and film makers. Western Australia features in world’s largest digital advent calendar in London!

In December, Tourism Western Australia partnered with Skyscanner, the UK’s largest metasearch platform, to be part of its Ultimate Advent(ure) Calendar. This festive activation turned the Now Building in London, Europe’s largest immersive space, into a winter wonderland promoting epic trips for 2025 ahead of the UK’s peak booking period. Each day between 13-24th December, visitors had the chance to interact with the world’s largest advent calendar in the heart of London, where a floor to ceiling 16k LED display included footage of one incredible destination to be won each day. Road trips across Western Australia’s South West, Coral Coast and Kimberley appeared behind three doors over the period, with stunning aerial footage showcasing the destination to over 390,000 shoppers and theatre goers as well as another 1.2 million Brits via social channels.  Searches for Western Australia on Skyscanner over the campaign were up 25% yoy .
