Western Australia, a truly unique study destination like no other

From the 14th to the 16th of November, the WAGO Office participated in the annual “Study Options” event, a prominent international education gathering aimed at connecting Australian universities with prospective students. Over the course of three impactful days, Western Australia (WA) played a central role in the event’s success and visibility.
The first day of the event, University Advisors Day, was marked by a series of engaging breakout sessions where UK-based schools had the opportunity to interact directly with Australian universities. WA took full advantage of this platform with a prominent speaking slot, delivering a presentation on the international education landscape in the state. The session highlighted WA’s diverse offerings, its innovative programs, and the unique opportunities available for international students, drawing significant interest from the audience.
On the second day, the event moved to St. Clare’s Oxford, where a school fair allowed universities to meet with a wide range of students. Australian institutions had the chance to discuss their programs with prospective students, providing valuable information to those considering undergraduate, postgraduate, or research opportunities. The final day, held at the Australian High Commission, saw approximately 350 students registered to attend. The exhibition hall became a hub of activity, with students from across the UK and beyond engaging with representatives from universities across Australia, including two from New Zealand.
The Western Australian Government stand, alongside WA universities including ECU, Murdoch, Curtin, and UWA, had the largest presence at the event. The strong brand visibility and active involvement led many attendees to believe that WA had sponsored the event. This feedback highlights the state’s strong commitment to promoting its educational offerings on the global stage.
Overall, the “Study Options” event successfully showcased the best of Australian education, with WA standing out as a key player in attracting international talent and solidifying its reputation as a hub for higher education excellence.
