Record-breaking attendance at Western Australia showcase event in Paris
In the largest gathering for the Australia-France Business Association (AFBA) in recent times, the Western Australian Government Offices in Europe partnered with AFBA to deliver an event showcasing the abundance of opportunities in Western Australia.
Hosted in the Australian Embassy in Paris, guests were provided with informative insights from Agent General John Langoulant AO, who highlighted the existing relationship between France and Western Australia associated with key infrastructure projects, energy and critical minerals, and the opportunity to enhance these interests across existing and new priority diversification sectors.
The Agent General was joined by Director of the Frankurt Office, Ms Vanessa Rehn, and Trade and Investment Manager from the UK Office, Ms Claire Toms in a panel discussion, where further insights were provided on specific opportunities within Western Australia and key enablers to support French companies looking at investing in Western Australia. The team enjoyed hosting a networking reception immediately following the discussions to further explore individuals interests in Western Australia, and look forward to ongoing engagement in the French market. With the recent commencement of the Perth-Paris direct flight, enabling non-stop transfers between these two cities, there has been no better time to enhance our investment and trading relationship.
Outside of the showcase event, the team had the opportunity to meet with key French multinationals with existing or prospective investments in Western Australia, working across logistics, transport, energy and critical minerals. The international network plays a critical role in enhancing the profile of Western Australia globally, and engagement activities like this are key enablers for driving economic and strategic outcomes for the State. The European Offices look forward to driving outcomes to strengthen the relationship with one of Europe’s largest economies.
