The Western Australian stand was a hub of activity as the team showcased WA’s thriving sectors and quality of life, providing in-depth information on the relocation process. With 6,000 attendees on the first day of the show and 6,500 on the second, interest was palpable, with long queues forming to learn more about the state’s migration pathways.  This overwhelming response highlighted the strong interest in WA as a prime destination for skilled migrants.

A key focus of our attendance was addressing the challenges that skilled migrants face, particularly in bridging the gap between securing visas and finding employment. The Department of Training and Workforce Development’s skilled migration employment register was a crucial tool showcased at the event, offering a clear pathway for migrants to transition smoothly into WA’s workforce.

The expo attracted a diverse range of professionals, with notable interest from the Information Technology sector, engineers and healthcare workers. Attendees appreciated the detailed insights provided by the team, especially those with existing ties to WA through family or friends. Many prospective migrants, including those with visas already in place, sought further clarity on housing and the cost of living, underlining the importance of ongoing engagement and support.

The expo also provided valuable insights into the needs of prospective migrants, particularly around skill recognition.  Being the only Australian state represented at the event, WA stood out, offering a unique glimpse into its career and lifestyle opportunities. This exclusivity allowed WAGO to make a lasting impression, positioning WA as a top choice for skilled migrants.
